Women's Health: Tonic Tea for General Health

There are many nourishing and tasty teas that serve as general tonics for the reproductive system and the endocrine glands. When using these teas as a tonic for the reproductive system, it is necessary to drink two to four cups daily for an extended period of time (two to three months). 
Herbs work surely and steadily, but not overnight. To make it easier to prepare and drink your tonic teas, make at least a quart at a time. I suggest making your tea in the evening and letting it infuse overnight in a quart canning jar. The next morning, warm it, strain, and pour it into a thermos. It will be hot and ready to drink whenever you wish. 
FEMALE TONIC TEA 
This is an especially nice tonic formula for the reproductive system. It is rich in vitamins and minerals, and contains uterine tonic herbs. It has a nice refreshing “green” taste. 
  • 2 parts raspberry leaf 
  • 1 part strawberry leaf 
  • 2 parts nettle 
  • 2 parts peppermint and/or spearmint 
  • 2 parts lemon grass 
  • 1 part squaw vine stevia to taste 
To Make: 
Use four to six tablespoons of herb mixture per quart of water. Add herb mixture to cold water and bring to the simmering point. Remove 
Remove from heat and allow to infuse for twenty minutes. Strain. Drink three to four cups daily.
WOMEN’S “ROOT” TEA 
This is this considered a “root beer” teas. It has a flavor reminiscent of homemade old-fashioned root beer. It is a wonderful tonic for the endocrine glands, contains liver cleansing herbs, and is useful for gently regulating hormone production. 
  • 3 parts sassafras bark 
  • 2 parts dandelion root 
  • 1 part licorice root 
  • 1 part pau d’arco 
  • 1 part vitex (chaste berry) 
  • 1 part wild yam root 
  • 1 part ginger root 
  • ½ part cinnamon 
  • ¼ part orange peel 
  • ¼ part dong quai root
  • Optional: a pinch of stevia 
To Make: 
Use four to six tablespoons of herb mixture per quart of water. Add herb mixture to cold water and simmer for twenty minutes. Strain. Drink three to four cups daily.
